We worked on a contract basis for a client who owned a racing school in California. Over a three-year period, we completed a number of projects for them, from instructional text and sales copy to corporate communications and video scripts.
Our favourite job, however, was being given the opportunity to interview a 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning racing driver and turning our tête-à-tête into a feature article for our client’s blog.
It was great to receive an introduction to this talented sportsman and it was extremely generous of him to offer us his time. In a telephone interview he patiently and comprehensively answered our questions with a level of insight and humour that we hoped to convey in the write-up.
The final article was to be published both on our client’s blog and on the website of the manufacturer with which the driver had gained his success.
In a decade of freelancing, we’ve had very few opportunities to interview such well-known celebrities and we found it a real privilege. It also gave us an excellent excuse to put our journalism hat back on after not wearing it in a while.
We were grateful for the experience and very pleased with how the project turned out.
