Lay down your pens and let Copy Republic take up the struggle.

Our History

Copy Republic was founded in January 2008 by former Electronic Arts Managing Editor, John Featherstone. Created to service the copywriting, instructional writing  and branding requirements of the fast-growing video games sector, the business quickly established a sizeable client list. Customers included publishing giants Ubisoft, SCEE, Square Enix, Bandai Namco and EA as well as a selection of prominent studios.

Word-of-mouth recommendations from a raft of satisfied customers soon led to projects flying in from outside the gaming sector. Today, Copy Republic welcomes work from all industries and is proud to count Audi, Nokia, Cats Protection, one of the world’s largest sportswear manufacturers and a range of international creative agencies as valued customers. I worked with John during my time at Ignite Game Technologies Inc., helping establish the company’s online racing game, Simraceway. Due to his wide-ranging responsibilities on the title, our paths regularly crossed and he was a pleasure to work with. As well as having a comprehensive skill-set, he was always helpful if needed and would be a great asset for any firm looking to hire a talented freelancer and a good guy.

Videogame client colleague

At Nokia we utilised John’s skills as a writer to support us with various marketing activities. John was always ready to put the needs of us, the client, first but was not afraid to offer creative suggestions which were welcomed (and usually better than ours!). When I require the support of a writer again, I would have no hesitation in making John my first port of call.
