I told you in my first post that I’d keep you updated on the development of Copy Republic’s new logo. Well, hot off the press, here it is!
After a few final tweaks over the last couple of days, it’s now ready for deployment on our website, invoices, social media pages, stationary, drafts and more.
I’d like to thank its extremely talented designer — a friend of mine from my EA days — for producing it.
The development process was long and tortuous for her and I appreciate her sticking with it through all my finicky and seemingly needless amends. I know what it’s like to be on the other end of a process like that so I love her even more for the patience she showed.
I considered many, many drafts and suggestions before settling on this choice. It was actually a really satisfying, almost cathartic, process. Not only did it — literally! — provide a marker confirming that my new venture was a reality, it also gave me a chance to play around in a sandpit that didn’t involve writing.
If I wasn’t a writer, I’d love to be a graphic designer, and this process reinforced that desire. Who knows, if Copy Republic crumbles around my feet in a few years, maybe I can effect a career shift!
Until then, I’m super-happy where I am. And I’m well, well pleased with Copy Republic’s awesome new logo.
